Let’s meet the team!
Siemma Kent, FOUNDER & senior speech pathologist
Siemma is a certified practising Speech Pathologist and founded Tok Tok Therapies in 2017 after working at an early intervention centre for four years. Specialising in autism as a new graduate prompted additional training within the field of applied behavioural analysis (ABA). Siemma has an in-depth knowledge of autism spectrum disorders, which has fuelled her motivation to continue learning over the years.
She has a special interest in teaching functional communication and reducing maladaptive behaviours, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), early intervention and play-based therapy, teaching social skills, emphasising the importance of movement and developing motor skills, emotional regulation and sensory processing differences.
Siemma is also an orofacial myofunctional therapist, which allows her to treat speech and feeding difficulties with a more holistic approach. Siemma’s approach reflects the ‘whole person’ and has a consideration for goals outside traditional Speech Pathology. She is passionate about upskilling and empowering parents and educators as consistency is key!
beverley lowe, speech pathologist
Beverly joined the Tok Tok team at the beginning of 2020 and brings a wealth of experience and passion to the team. As a PROMPT certified Speech Pathologist, Beverley is able to elicit speech sounds by using specialised tactile cues. Her special interests in the field include speech sounds and literacy, however she also has vast experience working with children on the autism spectrum. While studying she also volunteered at a speech pathology clinic for 2 years helping to deliver early language group therapy. As a mother of a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Beverley understands first-hand the importance of early intervention and supporting children with tailored therapy that meets their needs. It’s building trust with the child and seeing the growth in both the child and their parents that motivates her. Her approach to intervention is to make it fun and rewarding, and provide parents with tools and skills to continue reinforcing learning at home.
Taylor Francis, speech pathologist
Taylor started off as a Therapy Assistant for Tok Tok Therapies as she completed her Masters in Speech Pathology. She stayed committed to this role for four years before graduating in 2024. Taylor loves engaging with children of varying abilities and seeing the excitement it brings them when they accomplish the goals they've been working on. Taylor is a natural at following the child’s lead and pursuing therapy in a way they will find fun and interesting. She enjoys creating sessions that contain both table work and movement to keep the child engaged. Taylor has a particular interest in Autism Spectrum Disorder, and AAC (augmentative and alternative communication). She is excited to immerse herself in more learning so she can be the best therapist for her caseload.
mark todd, Therapy Assistant
Mark joined the team in early 2024 and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Psychology with a passion for becoming a clinical psychologist. His journey into the world of psychology began with a desire to understand and help people.
Mark used to be a school athletics coach. Coaching provided him with the opportunity to connect with individuals on a personal level. It was during this time that he realized his love for empowering others and witnessing their growth firsthand.
It wasn’t until his niece was diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) that he was able to witness the impact of effective communication strategies on her life.
Joining TokTok Therapies was a natural fit. The authenticity of the company, coupled with its genuine commitment to making a difference in the community, aligned with his values. As a therapy assistant, his aim is to create a nurturing environment where children can explore and engage with the world around them. Mark strives to make each session calm and light-hearted, creating an environment where learning and fun go hand in hand.
He has a keen interest in communication, exploring how we interact with one another and the world around us. “I believe that effective communication is at the heart of every meaningful connection.”
When he’s not immersed in the world of psychology and therapy, you can often find him hiking and taking photos with his film camera.
